The MetroDukes chapter promotes JMU involvement and social interaction to more than 30,000 alumni in the DC Metro area. The chapter hosts a variety of events, such as social and athletic outings, community service projects, and networking opportunities, including a mentorship program. The MetroDukes chapter additionally funds a scholarship awarded to incoming freshmen from the DC Metro area. The funds for the scholarship are raised through events such as Crabfest and the Spring Winery Event, as well as through various sponsorships throughout the year.
