May 19, 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Experience the power of the Madison Network during Career and Networking Month's Women's Madison Network Event. Choose to practice your swing, or just mingle with your friends!  Food/drink ticket and JMU golf visor included with registration.


The guest speakers for the event are Donna Harper (’77, ’86M) and JMU Women's Golf Coach Sarah Sargent

Cost to attend is $15. 

Open to Alumni and friends/family!

Presenter Bio

Donna Harper (’77, ’86M)

Donna Harper is the Vice President for Access and Enrollment Management at JMU. She has served in various positions at the university since graduating in 1977 including Assistant Dean of Students, Director of Health and Recreation, Associate Vice President for Students Affairs and Executive Assistant to the President. She has enjoyed the various roles and responsibilities she has had the opportunity to have and strives to encourage and support others at the university to find their passion.

As an undergraduate she played field hockey and was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha. She continues to be involved through the Duke Club and advising ASA. Harper also serves as the co-coordinator of the College Student Personnel Administration graduate program and teaches a graduate class in the program.

Harper enjoys working in the community and currently serves on the Rockingham Educational Foundation and The Community Foundation, serving as officers on both boards. She received her B.S. in Business, M.S. in Counselor Education/College Student Personnel Administration, and Ed.S. in Counselor Education from JMU.

She and her husband Randy, live in Port Republic and their two children also graduated from JMU. They both enjoy “babysitting” their two grandchildren (who already know how to say “Go Dukes!”).

Sarah Sargent

Sarah Sargent is the head women's golf coach at James Madison University

A native of St. Charles, Illinois, Sargent was a standout student-athlete at Furman University for Hall of Fame head coach Mic Potter, earning National Golf Coaches Association All-America and the SoCon Player of the Year awards in the 2003-04 season. She also was named the Furman Female Athlete of the Year in 2004. She led the Paladins to four SoCon titles and four NCAA Regional appearances, including a berth in the NCAA Championships as a senior as Furman placed sixth in the regional.

In her professional career, Sargent has also been an associate golf professional at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2012. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Furman in 2004. She is married to Herbie Sargent, a former PGA of American professional and a professional caddy on the LPGA Tour for Meaghan Francella.

Sargent’s father Ralph Johnston played on the PGA Tour from 1971-78. Her brother Ralph Johnston played golf at the University of North Carolina while her sister Kelly played golf at the University of Florida.

Tina Fox (’94) 

Tina Fox is an inspirational leader with a 24-year career as an award-winning salesperson and business development executive in both Fortune 100 and successful Start-Up companies.

Today, Fox is the Founder of Fox Paradigm Consulting and an Owner of Cobalt Settlements in Arlington, Virginia. She has a strong history of identifying opportunities, which trigger multimillion-dollar growth. With the right balance of “IQ and EQ”, she has led individuals and teams to consistently exceed sales goals and establish new standards in business excellence.
She is a champion for women in business and mentors aspiring women leaders. She is a speaker at events supporting women in business and leadership. In 2015, she founded a group in Northern Virginia, “Women in Business”, which connects over 950 businesswomen focusing on networking, business problem solving and access to local accessible leadership.

Proud of her Chinese/American heritage and being raised as a U.S. Army Military “Brat” she went on to earn her undergraduate degree, with honors, in Communications/Public Relations at James Madison University. Fox currently lives in Lakeridge, Virginia with her husband, two sons and two “water dogs.”
